University-Model® Schools International (UMSI) began in the 1990’s with the opening of a Christian school in Texas that offered a unique approach to education. The success of that school laid the foundation for the National Association of University-Model® Schools (NAUMS) which exists to help develop University-Model® Schools across the United States.
University-Model® schooling is designed for families with parents who desire to take an active role in the oversight and implementation of their children’s education. Covenant Academy, a University-Model® school for grades K-8, integrates the best attributes of traditional education and independent study into one program designed to provide a quality, cost-effective, college preparatory education. Students attend classes like most college students, three days a week, receiving professional instruction by highly qualified instructors, and then learn to study independently for their classes under a parent’s guidance and instruction.
Covenant Academy, like other University Model® schools, partners with parents to provide a challenging academic program with a focus on developing Christ-like character, spiritual growth, and strong families.
